Fraud Prevention & Chargebacks
To protect our customers and our business, DEASTRA uses layered fraud screening and strict delivery controls. By placing an order, you agree to the following:
Verification & Order Screening
- We may verify orders using tools such as AVS (address verification), CVV checks, IP/geolocation review, order velocity checks, and phone/email confirmation.
- For high-value orders, we may require a copy of a government-issued photo ID and a photo of the physical payment card (first/last 4 digits only), or a bank transfer/wire. If requested documents are not provided within 24 hours, the order may be canceled and refunded to the original payment method.
- We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at our sole discretion, including orders with AVS/CVV mismatches or atypical shipping/billing patterns.
Shipping to Verified Addresses Only
- Orders must ship to the billing address or a verified alternate address on file with your card issuer. If you need to ship elsewhere, add the address with your bank before ordering and be prepared to confirm it.
- An adult signature is required on delivery. Carrier delivery scans, signature records, and/or carrier GPS/photo confirmation constitute proof of delivery.
“Item Not Received” (INR) & Delivery Disputes
- If a package shows delivered per the carrier, it is deemed delivered and risk has passed to you (see “Risk of Loss and Damage”).
- Suspected misdelivery/theft after carrier delivery must be reported to us within 24 hours and to the carrier and local authorities. We will assist with carrier claims but do not issue refunds/replacements for post-delivery theft.
- Where available, we may require a police report for any INR or theft claim on orders over $500.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
- Filing an unwarranted or fraudulent chargeback (including INR after confirmed delivery, or “not as described” where the item matches our listing/inspection) is a violation of these terms.
- We vigorously contest chargebacks and will provide evidence including: order logs, AVS/CVV results, IP/geolocation data, packing video, weight scans, photos, serial/engraving numbers, carrier tracking, signature/GPS confirmation, and communications.
- If a chargeback is decided in our favor or is withdrawn, you agree to reimburse any fees, shipping, and reasonable recovery costs where permitted by law and card-network rules.
- Returning or refusing delivery does not constitute a valid chargeback reason. Returns must follow our Return Policy.
Anti-Tamper & Inspection
- We record the packing of every order on video and may serialize/photograph items before shipment.
- Returned items with removed/replaced stones, altered serials/engraving, or damage inconsistent with transit will be treated as tampering and are ineligible for refund. We may report suspected fraud to the carrier, payment processor, and law enforcement.
Account & Data Security
- For fraud prevention, we may place temporary authorization holds or delay shipping pending verification.
- Suspected fraudulent activity may result in account closure and order cancellation.
Cooperation with Law Enforcement & Carriers
- You authorize us to share necessary order information with carriers, payment processors, and law enforcement for the investigation of loss, theft, or fraud.
No Waiver of Rights
- Nothing in this section waives our rights under applicable law or card-network rules. These terms supplement, and do not limit, our Shipping and Return Policies.
